(Astoria, Oregon) –NOTE: THESE FORECASTS HAVE CHANGED - SEE After Foggy Change, Oregon Coast / Washington Coast Still Forecast as Sunny This Week Abrupt forecast shift: one more day of haze then should be sunny for the week
Just like the inland areas of Oregon and Washington that are still seeing summer-like weather, the Oregon coast and Washington coast will be basking in mostly clear skies for the next week, with perhaps some bouts of rain or slightly more cloudy conditions. Second Summer continues its hold along the Pacific Northwest shorelines.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS):
Long Beach, Washington
“High pressure over the region will maintain warm and dry conditions for much of southwest Washington and northwest Oregon through at least the weekend. Rain possible Monday and Tuesday as a system approaches from the northwest.”
With most areas predicted to be in the mid 60s for much of the time through Wednesday, it gets a bit colder the farther north of Westport you go. However, on the Curry Coast of Oregon you get slightly higher temps than other parts of the south coast.

Inland areas like the Willamette Valley and metro region will be seeing the 80s this week.
For the south Washington coast and upper half of the Oregon coast, NWS is predicting largely sunny skies through at least Sunday and temps in the mid 60s. Some days will see mostly cloudy conditions to start off but that will burn away in the afternoon. On Sunday, high temps are predicted to close in on the 70s in many areas of the coastline.
The upper part of the southern Oregon coast – from Bandon to about Florence – will see somewhat cooler temps and cloudy conditions more often, however. Check out Oregon Coast Sky Cams - Web Cams, Weather Cams
On Monday, there's a chance of showers in the western half of the two states, including the coastlines. By Tuesday, from about Bandon northward into Washington's coast, the skies return to sunny to mostly sunny, and they are predicted to stay that way through Wednesday. That section of the south Oregon coast from Reedsport through Bandon will likely be in the upper 50s, however. Farther south of Bandon it starts to get a little warmer and match the predictions from the upper half of the Oregon coast.
These are good times to head out to the coastlines as lodging rates largely begin dropping and crowds are generally less. Calm seas like this will also mean good whale watching. Lots of orcas had been spotted in the Astoria earlier this week, but it's unclear if they're still in the Columbia or not.
