(Waldport, Oregon) – Earlier this year, Waldport's now-famous Beach, Bike and Blues Festival had to change its approach and reset its usual month of May to something later in the season. Announcing September 20 for the 2025 event, the Waldport Chamber of Commerce had to once again shift the day.
Just this week the chamber said the official date is now Saturday, September 13.
It is the Oregon coast, after all. Organizers held the increasingly-popular event in May for the first three years, and it snagged over 5,000 attendees by its third run. Weather was less than ideal – you might even say “soggy” - each May. So Waldport opted for a new date to provide a warmer and more enjoyable experience for festival-goers. Despite last year's challenges with the weather, the festival welcomed more than 1,200 visitors representing 27 states and three countries.
Returning sponsors, food vendors, and volunteers are encouraged to join again for this year’s festivities.
"The Beach, Bike & Blues Festival will continue to take place at the Alsea Bay Bridge Visitor Center & Museum, along with its adjacent parking areas," stated Chamber Executive Director Tom Fullmer.
In previous years, the festival overlapped with the Annual Oregon Coast Gravel Epic, which brought in over 800 bike racers and their guests. This year, however, the timing will differ.
The festival will once again feature the stunning shores of Alsea Bay as its breathtaking backdrop. Festival hours are noon to 7:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Waldport Chamber of Commerce, the event is dog-friendly, ADA accessible, and free to attend.
“Live blues music, coastal beer, great food and fun are on tap,” Fullmer said.
Back in January, the chamber was working on getting Green Bike Co-Op as it bike partner, and now that relationship is official as well. It's one that will provide rollicking activities for all ages. The local non-profit is committed to bike repairs, sales, and holiday gifting for children.
One exciting proposal includes a kid’s bike rodeo and safety course to be held in the Bisnett Insurance parking lot. The festival is also reaching out to bike communities throughout Lincoln County for input and support.
The festival's beginnings can be traced back to community feedback in 2021, calling for a spring event to celebrate the town. According to Fullmer, the first festival was held a year later.
"At the end of the Festival in 2022, we discovered we had a winner with more than 700 people attending, 30 volunteers, 18 sponsors, and vendors, and a terrific lineup of music," Fullmer said. "In 2023, expectations were exceeded when we welcomed more than 1,900 attendees and expanded our exposure to statewide media and outreach."

This year, the Oregon Coast Gravel Epic hits town on May 3.
This cycling event highlights the untamed splendor of the ancient Siuslaw National Forest, offering a premier experience for avid cyclists. Designed with care, the routes strike a perfect balance - 65% rugged, unpaved logging roads paired with 35% smooth pavement. Organizers say it's an unforgettable journey, where every twist and turn reveals increasingly breathtaking scenery.
