(Florence, Oregon) – In a week, the little town of Florence may overheat a bit. January 23 – 25 is the weekend of the 22nd Annual Florence Winter Music Festival, with a rush of bluegrass, Americana and a touch of folk in the central Oregon coast town. Known as "The Coast's Best Music Festival," artists in the lineup include Della Mae, Tony Furtado, Kristen Grainger & True North, Henhouse Prowlers, Whiskey Deaf Duet and more. All of it happens at the Florence Events Center.
In addition to music, the festival has local food, libations and workshops for the musically inclined. The famed Oregon coast festival offers engaging workshops, open jam sessions, local food and libations, and a free Thursday night hootenanny featuring open mic performances to kick off the festivities. That one goes from 6 - 9 p.m. at the center.
“As a bonus, professional musicians will be on hand to accompany those who wish backup,” said organizers. “The hootenanny is free and open to the public, and musicians of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.”
