Holiday Events Kick Off This Weekend on Oregon Coast Published 11/23/2010 (Oregon Coast) – Some start the holidays right after Thanksgiving. Other towns start it a week later. Whatever the case, the holiday season has arrived at the beach. Some little towns, like Manzanita and Seaside, have tree lighting ceremonies on the big Friday after Turkey Day. Others seem to wait a week for their big holiday shindig. Then each continues with numerous yuletide delights throughout the month. November 26. Magical Manzanita. The tree and town lighting is synchronized at 6 p.m. There will be music and caroling, various celebrations throughout the tiny town, and Santa will be at the Calvary Bible Church. Manzanita, Oregon.
November 26. Seaside Yuletide Parade. A lighted parade meanders through downtown at 7 p.m. Santa will be present. December 3. Holiday Ornament Night. An evening of food, socializing and crafts. Open to all ages. A dinner is serve, followed by the selling of holiday craft items. Ceremony and Caroling, and a Galleries Open House from 1-5 p.m. Cannon Beach. December 4. Annual Yaquina Bay Lighted Boat Parade. Festive lights smother various ships as they parade around the bayfront in Newport. Parade begins at dusk. Free. Gather along the historic bayfront area to watch.
