Finding Vacation Homes / Rooms with Kitchens Still Available for Thanksgiving on Oregon Coast

(Lincoln City, Oregon) – One of the deep traditions for many Oregonians is heading to the beach at Thanksgiving, often to cook the meal right there and have the family gathering near the sands. Which is why a lot of to most vacation rentals on the Oregon coast get sucked up – even for this holiday in the midst of rather wintry weather. (Above: Seashore Inn on the Beach, Seaside)

Many others choose to forgo the cooking altogether and just hang with the fam' for the holiday.

Thus, kitchen units often get in high demand for Thanksgiving, and this holiday seems no different. Indeed, there seem to be fewer “vacancy” signs open than many years for some spots. Oregon Coast Beach Connection gathered some intel through local visitor centers and many towns did not report either way on openings for kitchen units at all. No responses came from owners in Tillamook County or the south coast, for example.

Lincoln City and Newport reported a few, and a number of openings still seemed available in the Seaside area. Some actually reported specials for the holiday as well as openings.

Ocean House BnB, Newport. It is one striking structure inside and out, perched atop a cliff of expansive views. There are openings at this luxury spot along with complimentary breakfast. Inn at Nye Beach, Newport. Stunning views of Nye Beach and the ocean – and they have that rather amazing Infinity spa outdoors. Coho Oceanfront Lodge, Lincoln City. The luxury hotel overlooks the beach. They have some openings for the holiday and weekend. There is also a special for the week: stay three nights and get 15% off what are already seasonal low rates. Some suites are designed with kids in mind, and there are fireplaces. Surfland, Lincoln City. There are openings for the weekend and they have a similar special as above: stay three nights and get 15% off what are already seasonal low rates. Each room has a view, balcony and is on the ocean. Free breakfast is served is as well. Some rooms pet friendly. 2133 NW Inlet Ave. Lincoln City, Oregon. 541-994-8145. Website here.

A1 Beach Rentals. Openings in Lincoln City are rare over the weekend and kitchen units are in serious demand. A1 Beach Rentals has two rather sizable openings in the form of vacation rentals – and they've even cut prices on them.

The Jetty House has cut rates and openings starting Tuesday: $210, $210, $274, $233 (plus fees).

The Nantucket is a beauty near the beach that sleeps four. Starting Wednesday prices are lowered for the week: $125, $133., $149, $132 depending on days. (plus tax and clean fees).

In Pacific City it is slim pickings.

Kiwanda Coastal Properties is reporting only one opening at a small vacation rental apartment in Neskowin. The Neskowin Nest is right above a famed store and it's across the street to the beach. Pacific City, Oregon. 503-965-7212. Website here.



The Ocean Inn Manzanita. If you wanna see the view, just check out the stunning webcam.

On top of it, the Ocean Inn has openings still for Thanksgiving, including three kitchen units. A few are still open on the holiday itself but over the weekend, but some units are only open on Thanksgiving and the day after. There are also some units open with kitchenettes, including one ADA room. Tolovana Inn, Cannon Beach. There are several room types open, including standard queen, king and studios. There are also one- to two-bedroom suites with kitchens, fireplaces, balconies, and of course, those eye-popping views of the ocean. Many of the units look out over Haystack Rock, and it's a very short walking distance to the famed landmark. Tradewinds AirBnbs. They have a variety of AirBnB condo units with kitchenettes and full kitchens. Hosts are on-site and it's right on the Prom. 1022 N. Prom, Seaside, Oregon. 503-738-9468. www.seaside-tradewinds.com

Gearhart By the Sea. Several condominium units are available with kitchens, including one to three-bedroom units. They can do two-night minimums for Thanksgiving. All units are individually owned therefore the price may vary. 1157 N Marion Ave. Gearhart, Oregon. 503-738-8331. gearhartresort.com

The Seashore Inn on The Beach. They have one kitchen unit left. It comes with a balcony and ocean view. There are still a handful of other rooms with ocean views, however.  60 North Promenade, Seaside, Oregon. 503.738.6368. 888.738.6368. www.seashoreinnor.com/
