(Lincoln City, Oregon) – It's not so much a little town as a small town that’s rather big. Certainly, Lincoln City is stretched out along miles of beach in a long, thin strip. In it are some 400 lodgings, including the rental home agencies – a serious record for any town on the west coast. These range from tiny B 'n' B's to massive resort hotels, along with everything in between. For those looking for places to spend the night in this most famous of central Oregon coast towns, here’s a brief overview of lodgings, rental agencies and motels that are sure to please. For a homey but classy little Cape Code-style B&B, Brey House Ocean View Bed and Breakfast Inn offers up big breakfasts and rooms with polished wood. Some have living rooms. Coho Oceanfront Lodge just expanded with another wing. It’s a luxury hotel overlooking the Pacific, coming with niceties such as Jacuzzi, sauna, indoor heated pool, in-room massage, wifi and a fitness room. There are balconies and some suites designed for kids.
D Sands Condominium Motel sits right by the famed tiny river. All their rooms are beachfront, coming as a suite or mini-suite, with a kitchen and balcony or patio. There’s a heated indoor pool, spa, and the beach is lit up at night. There’s something for everyone among the selection of homes at Lincoln City Vacation Homes: smaller ones with a view to a large house that sleeps 15. You’ll find either oceanfront or just a few steps away from the sand. Many are in the Nelscott area, with its pristine sands and often lack of crowds. Liberty Inn is a timeless classic at the north end of Lincoln City, right near the casino. It boasts an elegant, spacious lobby with a fireplace, and rooms have a forest view or distant views of the Pacific, while each comes with furnishings of cherrywood and a host of other amenities.
Inn at Spanish Head is the big famous one on the Oregon coast, built right into the cliff, overlooking the beach. Accommodations range from bedrooms to studios to one-bedroom suites w/ microwaves and refrigerators to full kitchens. Hotel amenities include wi-fi, spa, saunas, exercise room and a year-round heated swimming pool. There are nine floors – one of which is often used for the twice-yearly Whale Watch Weeks. A1 Beach Rentals is big on remodeled homes done with a particular flair, and many with a historic flair. Almost all are in various areas of Lincoln City and overlooking the beach, with some in Depoe Bay. All kinds of amenities are available, like hot tubs, decks, BBQ, rock fireplaces, beamed ceilings and more. Whistling Winds Motel is kind of a delightful oddity in town: a restored 1930's Motor Coach Motel with a hefty dose of historic charm and a sense woodsy yet modern chic. The rooms have vaulted ceilings, warm rich wood all over, Jacuzzis and hand built river rock fireplaces. 53 oceanfront units with jaw-dropping views are the staple at Nordic Oceanfront Inn. In-room Jacuzzis, kitchens, gas fireplaces and balconies or patios are also available, along with a nifty complimentary expanded hot continental breakfast that includes self serve Belgium waffles.
There are over 40 lovely vacation rentals at Pacific Retreats, which come in various areas around town. There’s a huge array of features, depending on home, including hot tubs, duplexes, game rooms, condo units, skylights, big kitchens, decks and more. Right on a cliff overlooking one of the town’s more pristine beaches is Sea Horse Oceanfront Lodging. There’s a heated indoor pool, dramatic oceanfront spa, free deluxe continental breakfast, conference room, fireplaces and private decks, while spas are available in some rooms. There’s also some lovely vacation rental homes. Looking Glass Inn sits in the ancient Taft District, across from Siletz Bay. It’s a Cape Cod-style inn, close to everything, and features whirlpool suites, one bedroom deluxe suites, two-bedroom fireplace suites or suites with a living area and two bedrooms.
Pelican Shores Inn has a fabulous view from each room. Some have oceanfront patios or gas fireplaces, and others come with sliding glass doors to oceanfront patios at the lawn level. A lovely indoor heated pool and barbecues on the lawn are nifty extras. There are condo-style rooms overlook ocean at Ocean Terrace Condominiums. Each suite contains a separate bedroom, full kitchen, TV in the living room and each bedroom, DVD player, plus a sliding glass door to the ocean air.
