(Newport, Oregon) – A decades-long tradition in Newport will return in October. The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) just announced dates for the Oregon Coast Jazz Party, happening October 3-5, 2025, at the Newport Performing Arts Center. (Nye Beach - Oregon Coast Beach Connection)
Now in its 21st year, OCCA Executive Director Jason Holland confirmed that Ken Peplowski will continue as music director.
"The audiences just love what Ken brings to the Party," said Holland. "His phenomenal energy on stage is matched only by his outstanding ability to assemble world-class musical talent."
Though no announcement yet on lineup, preparations for the highly anticipated event are already underway, with organizers expecting a large turnout from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. As usual, performances will take place at the state-of-the-art Alice Silverman Theatre, renowned for its Meyer Constellation acoustic system, which guarantees unparalleled sound quality.
That full lineup of artists for this year's Jazz Party is expected to be revealed in April, with ticket sales beginning at that time. Proceeds will benefit the OCCA. For more details, visit coastarts.org/jazz.
The Oregon Coast Jazz Party has become a fixture in Newport, originally starting over 20 years ago in the town's charming Nye Beach area. The event is now nationally recognized for its talented performers, stunning venue, and picturesque coastal backdrop.
Last year's lineup, curated by music director Ken Peplowski, featured an impressive array of talent, including local keyboard artist Randy Porter, The Monty Alexander Trio (Monty Alexander, Luke Sellick, Jason Brown), and Katie Thiroux. Other notable performers included Diego Figueiredo, Ada Rovatti, Todd Strait, Tom Wakeling, Kenny Washington, Lewis Nash, Dave Captein, and Tom Ranier.

In its early years, it was known as Jazz at Newport and at one point expanded to four days. Among the big names appearing in the past include big Northwest names Thara Memory, Mel Brown and Derek Sims.
This year's event promises to be yet another rousing celebration of jazz, bringing together some of the finest musicians from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. See coastarts.org/jazz
