Lots of Sun for Oregon Coast, Portland This Holiday Weekend Published 03/25/2015 (Oregon Coast) – The weather will pick up just in time for the end of spring break for those hitting the Oregon coast and other destinations in northwest Oregon. Record highs are in store for Portland and the beach towns will get especially inviting for the big overlap between Washington and Oregon schools and their time off. For the Oregon coast, it will be beautiful and sunny on Thursday and maybe part of Friday, but by the weekend things will return to the moody, in-and-out weather that's typical of spring. Look for mostly sunny and highs around 66 on Thursday, with Friday bringing in not as much sun and some rain. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland, said that by Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the beaches will be mostly cloudy with some rain here and there, and with temps in the upper 50's. All those bodes well for the big Oregon Coast SOLVE Spring Cleanup this weekend, and the end of Whale Watch Week. “Drier weather will spread from south to north across the region,” the NWS said. “High pressure will lead above normal temperatures Thursday and Friday with some morning fog and low clouds in the lowlands.” Another front moves in briefly on Friday, the NWS said, but this brings a drying trend on Saturday. Dry and mild weather should stick around through Monday, but another front brings more rain and cooler weather to the area early next week. The NWS said snow levels will drop just enough to hit the Cascade passes. Portland and much of the inland northwest parts of Oregon are looking at mostly sunny and record temps above 70 on Thursday, and close to that on Friday. Both days are likely to have some morning fog. Partly sunny or mostly cloudy will prevail on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. More Oregon weather here. More Oregon coast weather here.
