Oregon Coast Taken Over by Outdoor Art Festival
(Lincoln City, Oregon) - Get ready for a heavy dose of art and fun to take over the southern end of one central Oregon coast town this week. The Art Sea Street Fair will be held on SW 51st Street in the Taft District of Lincoln City on Saturday June 13 and 14. Artists, food vendors, musicians, and more will set up throughout the Taft area and celebrate all that is art, while Plein Air artists are invited back to paint the sea and enter the 'Quick Paint Contest.' This year, the festival welcomes Tracy Lee Stum. A professional street painter - or madonnara - Stum is a fine artist committed to creating spectacular modern masterpieces that transform, captivate and inspire. Best known for her 3D street paintings, also called anamorphic or pavement chalk art, Tracy comes to town from Ventura, California and will set up on SW 51st to create a 12x12 foot one of a kind street mural.
Tracy’s magic happens June 11 to 14. Watching Tracy may motivate some to partake in their own street painting, and the Lincoln City Visitors Bureau is more than accommodating on this. “Don’t worry, we have a place for everyone to color there own corner of the street,” said a spokesperson. June 13, at sundown, brings the release of 300 sky lanterns, which will illuminate the ocean to support The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin. The cabin is the first of its kind in the western U.S., created to provide families a serene escape from the sterile environment and painful procedures of hospitals. The beautiful custom-designed cabin is nestled among 24 acres of peaceful wooded land in Pacific City, Oregon (just north of Lincoln City). The cabin features its own private lake and is just minutes from the beach. Diana, of DianaBazPottery, will be teaching a hand molding clay course on June 12, while other workshops including life drawing with a live nude model, and on scene oil painting are offered.
