Sunny, Warm Weekend Weather for Coast, NW Oregon, Portland - in the 70's Updated 04/12/2014 (Oregon Coast) – Warm and sunny is the weekend prediction for the Oregon coast (and even Portland) from the National Weather Service (NWS). Some prime photographic conditions will often be found on the cloudier days, however. (Above: near Cannon Beach). The NWS said a weak weather system is coming in through northern Washington and will head east on Friday, which will result in stronger onshore low-level flow. “The offshore ridge amplifies Saturday and then moves to the coastline Sunday for a warming trend,” the NWS said. All this breaks down on Monday, letting in a weak frontal system and leading to a more unsettled pattern from Tuesday through much of the week. Friday is still mostly cloudy for the Oregon coast, with highs in the low 50's. Saturday starts off somewhat cloudy but gets quite blue and sunny with similar high temps and a light wind. Sunday gets really sunny and warm, with highs around 70, mostly on the Oregon coast. Monday moves to mostly sunny and highs in the 60's, Tuesday may get a bit of rain, and Wednesday and Thursday look to be a mix of rain, clouds and sun. These conditions, by the way, often make for the best photographic conditions of the year. Special Announcement: You can vote for you favorite Oregon coast lodging or favorite area of the shoreline.
