Wine Festival Lights Up Oregon Coast Town This Weekend (Seaside, Oregon) - The north coast town by the sea - Seaside - is providing another opportunity to experience Oregon wines in an irresistible, beachy atmosphere. The twice-yearly Seaside Downtown Wine Walk is back again on May 16, happening throughout the downtown area. Oregon wineries will be showcasing their best and Seaside’s downtown will be showing off its sights and businesses. There will be complimentary appetizers and live music as well. A commemorative event wine glass ($5) and ID bracelet will be required for wine tasting. Must be 21 or over to participate. Wineries will be charging nominal tasting fees. A map listing the participating wineries and businesses will be available at the three ID check stations. Cannon Beach Film Festival. The second Annul Cannon Beach Film Festival will celebrate “Paul Newman Throughout the Decades” Kick-off No Host Wine Reception is open to the public at 6:30 followed by a showing of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The event cajoles amateurs, families, professionals and people of all ages to participate in this wildly imaginative festival, with hundreds of sculptures, figures, scenarios and creatures carved out of the sand near Haystack Rock. It all begins at 6:30 a.m. with registration and building at the large entrance just north of Haystack Rock (by the Wayfarer Restaurant). Cars are then allowed to enter the beach. There will be a wide array of contestants this year, ranging from the Professional Master’s division to the Large Group Category. The Sand Fleas category is for those who are the under 6 age group. Awards will be given in all six divisions (Masters, Large Group, Small Group, Sand Teens, Sand Juniors, & Sand Fleas). This year the awards will be presented at the Radio Disney Tent.
