Some Restaurants Open for Thanksgiving on Oregon Coast

Have a massive Thanksgiving dinner with an oceanfront view at Pacific City's Pelican Pub.

(Oregon Coast) – It's not a well-known fact, but Thanksgiving weekend isn't just about the super shopping days. Holiday revelers and eaters flood to the coast as well, scooping vacation rentals to house family and friends, and then having their cake and munching on it too at the beach.

Many more show up the day after turkey day and fill the weekend, but quite a few head to the coast to either cook that bird in a rental or partake in some of the fine food in the few restaurants that are open.

Then, of course, there are the locals who are looking to not cook.

Astoria

For all those groups, here is a list of restaurants open for Thanksgiving along the Oregon coast.

In Astoria, restaurant Baked Alaska is open all day, and the Pig 'n Pancake is open until 3 p.m.

Bridgewater Bistro is having a Thanksgiving Day feast from 1 – 8 p.m. It features a brined and roasted turkey, choice of two stuffings and two gravies, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies and homemade cranberry chutney, among other things.

They will also be serving roast duck, wild salmon, NY steak and vegetarian entrees, as well as appetizers, soups, salads and desserts a la carte.  Senior and children’s portions are also available. Call for reservations at (503) 325-6777. 20 Basin Street, Astoria, Oregon.

Cannon Beach

Morris' Fireside Restaurant

Once there, you’ll enjoy fresh roasted turkey and all the trimmings, include pumpkin pie: $12.95, or half order for $7.95. Also on the menu: a prime rib, bacon wrapped filet mignon, cedar plank baked prawns and a vegan stuffed portabella mushroom. 100 E 2nd, Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Arch Cape Inn and Retreat. Here’s a Thanksgiving dining experience you’ll be thankful for throughout the year. It’s a prixe fixe dinner that takes place in a castle just south of Cannon Beach – really, an actual castle. But beyond that, the cuisine here is nothing short of a holiday for your palate.

The choice of entrees includes: juniper brined turkey breast with duchess potatoes and apple sage bread pudding; honey cured pork tenderloin with candied yams and wild mushrooms; and seared sea scallops with braised organic greens. Afterwards, the choice of desserts includes pumpkin pie, sweet potato cheese cake and flourless chocolate cake.

Pacific City

The Pelican Pub & Brewery is open and serving a special buffet from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $20 per adult and $15 per child. The menu includes: fresh cranberries, apricot preserve, blueberries and spices; garlic mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, artichoke and haricot vert casserole, artichoke hearts, corn bread and apple sausage stuffing; roasted yams, roasted butternut squash, poached pear and more. A variety of desserts are available, both large and small.
