Oregon Coast Summer: Yachats Events for the Season

(Yachats, Oregon) – The little town close to the exact middle point of the Oregon coast is emerging from spring with a bevy of things to do. Summer camps begin in late July, while there’s music (including a major classical music festival), Fourth of July celebrations, ice cream and wine tasting in between.
Some events take place near Yachats, in Waldport.
Weekdays. Free Breakfast and Lunch in Waldport. Get a good start with a hot & fresh breakfast and lunch. Open to the public, all ages. Served Monday – Friday, June 21 – August 28. Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Lunch at noon. Waldport Community Learning Center, located at Hwy 34 & Bay St. in Waldport, Oregon. All programs are free. Saturday, June 26. Wine Tasting at The Wine Place. Volcano Vineyards. Volcano Vineyards is a micro-winery, producing less than 1,000 cases per year. They purchase grapes from the Rogue Valley, bottle their wine in Eagle Point, and operate a popular tasting room in their hometown of Bend. Meet owner/winemaker Scott Ratcliff and taste complex and flavorful wine made from Rogue Valley grapes. 1 – 4 p.m. Free – over 21 only. July 2. Ring In The Fourth. Featuring the Yachats Village Ringers, an English handbell ensemble. Admission by donation. Sponsored by Friends of the Yachats Commons.7 p.m. Yachats Commons, Hwy 101 & W 5th. Yachats, Oregon.
July 4. Yachats La De Da Parade and Fireworks Show. Fun, whimsical, low-tech parade at noon. Food, entertainment and music all afternoon and evening about town. Spectacular fireworks at dusk over the Yachats Bay. Yachats, Oregon.
July 4. Yachats Ladies Club 7th annual Pie and Ice Cream Social. Each slice (6th of a pie) costs $3. Add a scoop of ice cream for fifty cents. Beverages also sold. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Yachats Commons, W 4th & Hwy 101. Yachats, Oregon. 541-547-3205

July 9 - 11. 30th Annual Yachats Music Festival. Three days of cameo performances by 20 to 25 major classical artists. Yachats Presbyterian Church, 360 W 7th St. Yachats, Oregon. Tickets and FMI call 510-845-4444.
July 10. Yachats Lions Annual Fish Fry. (Formerly the Yachats Smelt Fry). Dinner includes deep fried cod & snapper, baked beans, coleslaw and garlic bread. Also grilled sausages, chips, Slice of pie and drink. No advance tickets or reservations. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Yachats Commons Picnic Shelter, W 5th & Hwy 101. Yachats, Oregon.
July 21 - August 6. Seashore 21st Century Summer Camp. Four weeks of writing, reading, dance, art, fitness & crafts. For ages 5 to 14. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required. July 26 – July 30. Summer Writing & Adventure Camp. One week of adventures, explorations & creative writing. Led by Drew Myron, students will hike, bike, kayak, picnic and write while exploring Cape Perpetua, Alsea Bay, Newport Bayfront & more. This camp is limited to 10 students.
