Bob Creek Wayside - Rocky cove
Upper Lane County - Florence to Yachats Virtual Tour, Oregon Coast
Continue walking south and you'll find a slightly crescent cove full of wonders. This spot is known for the tide pools and marine creatures that far outweigh the human population of the entire 25-mile stretch between Yachats and Florence. Sometimes, at lower tides, wild mushroom-shaped rock structures jut out from the sea here, presenting entire marine colonies in colorful, awe-inspiring glory.
Also of particular interest is the access path to Bob Creek Wayside from the parking lot, which appears to be comprised of an Indian shell midden. (Even though the walkway is part of a midden, it is illegal to go through and search for treasures). More on Shell Middens of the Oregon coast.
