Dogs Take Over Oregon Coast Town in May
(Lincoln City,
Oregon) – Every dog has his day, and May 17 is the one for the central
Oregon coast town of Lincoln City. That’s when you and your mutt
can show off at the Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics. It’s not
only a lot of fun, but it’s for a good cause, as proceeds from the
event will go to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.
It will take place at 1545 SE 50th Street in Lincoln City. General admission is $2 per person, kids 12 and under free.

Your mutt, purebred or mixed breed can compete in this dogged contest with show categories as: Cutest Puppy, Fastest 20 Yard Dash, Best Smile and Sweetest Smoocher. Prizes will be awarded in each category; the winner of the “Best In Show” category will receive a Lincoln City weekend package valued at over $300.

Look-a-Like Contest and Best Smile.
Dogs won’t have all the fun, however. For humans there will be food, booths selling pet-related goodies plus the simple hilarity of watching man’s best friend in the starring role.
“So bring the whole family, even if you leave the mutt at home,” said Lincoln City spokesman Katera Woodbridge.

This is the fifth year for the event, Woodbridge said. It’s gone through some minor changes, including the realization that not all dog owners are morning people.
“Changes
have been in the categories and pricing over the year. Nothing huge. Last
year, we did a morning dog walk. We won't be doing that this time as the
attendance was very low.”
Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics will be held from Noon until about 4 p.m. on Saturday, the 17th of May. Registration will begin at 11 a. The registration fee is $2 per category per dog. All proceeds from the event will go to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. 1545 SE 50th Street in Lincoln City. General admission is $2 per person, kids 12 and under free.
