Seaside at twilight |

Seaside's more festive side |
New this year is “The Artists’ Row,”
featuring local and northwest fine art in many mediums, from oils to watercolors,
creating a mini art gallery in one big location. There will be a variety
of artisans offering original pottery, stained glass, jewelry, home gifts
and décor, glassware, tasty treats, toys and more.
Santa will be there, checking to make sure the kids of
all ages are on his list and posing for photos. He will make his appearance
from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday and
Sunday.
Also
new is the Kid’s Activity Room. Children are invited to make frames
for their Santa pictures, enjoy the clowns making balloon animals and
other activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the room
and not left there unattended. Sponsors for the Kid’s Room are Astoria
Builders Supply, Gearhart Builders Supply and Lum’s Auto Center.
The
Fair happens over the Thanksgiving weekend, which every year is bustling
with salt air and joy on the beaches. The event is a fabulous opportunity
to get in the holiday mood and to support the talents of the featured
artists and artisans. As a bonus, fairgoers can enjoy the Seaside Yuletide
parade through downtown Seaside on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The Pacific
Power Parade of Lights ends at Quatat Park at the Southeast side of the
Convention Center, where Mr. & Mrs. Santa help to light the community
Christmas tree and spectators are invited to join the carol singing.
