Holiday Gift Fair Kicks Off North Oregon Coast
Season
(Seaside,
Oregon) - Three days of holiday frivolity will encompass the north Oregon
coast town of Seaside later this week, with the 34th Annual Seaside Holiday
Gift Fair. It happens Friday, Nov. 28, 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29,
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Seaside
Civic & Conventions Center, 415 1st Avenue.
All items available at the fair are handcrafted and many
of the exhibitors travel from beyond the local area to be a part of this
professional, juried event.
This event is presented by the North Coast Creative Arts
Association (NCCAA) with assistance from the Seaside Chamber of Commerce.
The Holiday Gift Fair features works created by artists
from the Northwest featuring a variety of mediums from oil to watercolors
to mixed media, original pottery, stained glass, jewelry, accessories,
toys, pet gifts, packaged food treats, home gifts and décor, glassware
and other unique gifts.
"Our
Fair is a wonderful place to find gifts for everyone on your list,"
said Lynn Patterson, of the NCCAA. "It is sure to put you in the
holiday mood and you will be supporting the talents of artists and artisans
from the Northwest."
In
the spirit of the season, visitors to the show are encouraged to bring
a donation of durable food items for the food bank barrels to aid the
less fortunate in our community. A food bank cash deposit receptacle will
also be in place in the lobby for those who wish to donate money. The
barrels will be in the lobby.
Children are encouraged to bring their lists to Santa Claus
and to pose for a picture with him. He will be at the Fair from 3 pm to
5 pm on Friday and noon to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is a bonus
for Friday Fairgoers as Seaside begins its annual Yuletide celebration
with the Pacific Power Parade of Lights at 7 pm through the downtown area.
Admission and parking for the Gift Fair are free. Contact
Lynn Patterson at 503-861-9815.
