Wine & Travel: Free Tasting in Coastal Town
(Yachats, Oregon) - The
Wine Place, the cozy wine shop in downtown Yachats, is hosting more
free wine tastings every Saturday, along with informal opportunities
to meet Oregon winemakers and mingle with industry experts. Each
weekend will spotlight a different wine.

The Wine Place
is known as relaxed and friendly, specializing in Oregon labels
and offering choice wines from over 300 labels from across the globe.

March 4, 1 to 4 p.m., Award Winners
Toast the top picks of the Newport Wine & Seafood Festival.
Shop owner Carrie (aka Vino Vixen) will pour the award-winning wines.
It's a festival without the traffic, hassle or entry fee.

March 11, 1 to 4 p.m., Everyday Wines
Table wine? Everyday wine? Affordable wine? Call it what you will,
but these delicious and inexpensive picks will surprise and delight.
Carrie Yano, owner of The Wine Place, offers complimentary tastes
all afternoon.

March 18, 1 to 4 p.m., Bethel Heights Vineyard
One of the first vineyards in the Willamette Valley's Eola Hills,
Bethel Heights Vineyards specializes in Pinot Noir, and also produces
Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. Co-owners Marilyn Webb and
Terry Casteel (winemaker) - in their first visit to The Wine Place
- will share complimentary tastes of their creations.

March 25, 1 to 4 p.m., Dimmick Cellars
Meet Darren Dimmick, a software consultant-turned-winemaker. Using
fruit from both sides of the Columbia River, Dimmick creates rich
wines earning steady recognition. The Dimmick Cellars Syrah is a
top seller at The Wine Place.
Winter hours for The
Wine Place and its sister shop, Gourmet Lady, are Friday –
Monday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Wine Place
is located in the center of downtown Yachats, at Hwy. 101 and W.
Fourth St. (next to the Joes' Town Center Cafe). Parking is available
