Oregon Seafood and Wine Fest Announces Early Tickets for Large Groups
(Newport,
Oregon) – Every year, the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival brings
over 17,000 tourists into the central Oregon coast town, soaking up the
fine foods and exquisite vino created by some of the best chefs and wineries
in the northwest. This year’s event happens February 22 –
24, next to the Rogue Ales Warehouse, and large groups now have a chance
to buy some tickets early and get a little special treatment.
The Newport Chamber has announced that advance group tickets are now on sale for the Oregon coast behemoth event, now in its 31st year. Groups of 15 or more can order now, via the chamber office: 800-262-7844. For Friday, group tickets are available for $15 each. Saturday, they are $25 per person. Sunday is $10 per person. All group tickets are limited availability: first come first served, prepaid.
These advance ticket sales allow large groups to reserve their attendance for certain days and not have to wait in long lines. Group tickets include special entry and a wine glass. 15-person minimum for the group, must all arrive at the same (prescheduled) time.

Entry
fees at the door range from $5 - $13, depending on the day. Later this
month, the chamber said there will be special e-ticket sales for advance
tickets, which will result in a special e-ticket line at the entrance
of the festival.
More information about e-tickets will be announced soon.
This year, the festival boasts more than 140 vendors – a record number of booths that sell wines, arts and crafts, seafood and other culinary wonders.
The culinary fireworks include an exotic selection of seafood, such as the Oregon coast’s renowned salmon, oysters and Dungeness crab. Other items will also include Hawaiian teriyaki chicken, yakisoba, egg rolls, fresh baked pies, barbecue beef or shrimp, meatball sandwiches, dragon ears, funnel cakes, lobster gumbo, mini-doughnuts, keilbasa dogs, tacos, tamales, seafood croissant melts, Spanish omelets, grilled asparagus with butterfly shrimp and jambalaya, to name a few.
Over
70 wineries from around the northwest have signed on so far, including
the Noble Estate Vineyard, Chateau Benoit, Sake One, Silvan Ridge, Hinman
Vineyards Winery, Hauer of the Dauen Winery, Orchard Heights, Willamette
Valley Vineyards, Spangler Vineyards, Pheasant Valley Winery and Nehalem
Bay Winery.
Lorna Davis, Director of Tourism Development for the Newport Chamber, said the economic benefit to the area is enormous.
“There
are around 17,000 that go through the gate each year, though the population
of Newport can and does swell beyond that,” said Davis. “Lodging,
dining, retail, grocery and other businesses all look forward to the surge
of business this event provides in the dead of winter. It is estimated
anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 million dollars come into the community during
this time, which is significant given the time of year that the event
is held.”
The
result is packed motel rooms, Davis said. Many start reserving their lodging
just before New Year’s Eve. “Being the early bird is the key,”
Davis said.

$9 on Friday: 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
$13 on Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
$5 on Sunday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
