Seaside
Wine Walk Brings 'Cheers' to North Oregon Coast
(Seaside,
Oregon) - The latest of the twice-yearly Seaside Downtown Wine Walk
is just around the corner, happening Saturday, November 18 and bringing
with it bundles of fun and a bit of “la dolce vita”
to the northern coastl resort town.
Some of Oregon's
top wineries are pairing up with local downtown businesses, giving
tourists and wine geeks the opportunity to stroll lazily through
the town’s historic businesses with a bit of live entertainment
and enjoy "to die for" appetizers served by the many business
participants.
For
only $5, guests receive a commemorative wine glass to use as they
glide through more than 20 stops tasting the best northwest vineyards
have to offer. A small tasting fee may apply for some of the wines
featured.
Look for the
balloons, and expect some fantastic hors d’oeuvres in some
venues.
Last spring’s
Seaside Downtown Wine Walk saw another increase in wine tasters
and wineries there to show off their nectar, as various spots along
the way featured a myriad of live music, from jazz to light pop
to barbershop sounds. The twice-yearly event takes place in May
and November, and continues to grow as more vintners participate
and awareness of the event increases, slowly gaining a region-wide
reputation for being an event that is so much more than just a day
at the beach.
Hours of the
event have expanded slightly as well this time around, starting
an hour earlier. The event now runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Wineries
this year include Silver Fall Vineyards, Nehalem Bay Winery, Saginaw
Vineyard, Hip Chicks do Wine, Mia Sonatina, Kings Raven Winery,
Hauer of the Dauen Winery, Anam Cara Cellars, Walnut City Wine Works,
Bridge View Winery and Temptress Winery.
