(Newport, Oregon) - The Sandbar & Grill, in the middle of the atmospheric Nye Beach neighborhood of Newport, is now hosting an Open Mic the last Thursday of each month.

Artist of all genres and styles are encouraged to come and participate. The Sandbar accommodates small ensembles and provides, microphones, PA system and lighting.
Casey Miller of Ocean18 media Services is hosting the event.
“I know how important it is to have the chance to play live locally,” Miller said. “Validation from your peers and the chance to present your work is a great opportunity. Playing in front of audiences requires artists to take their creative energy to the next level. Trying to find venues in our area for alternative styles of music can be a challenge.

said one of the perks of playing at these open mic sessions
is the chance to have pictures and video taken during your performance.

The next Sandbar Open Mic is Thursday March 29th,
beginning at 7 p.m. Miller said local musicians should call ahead to arrange
