Nye
Beach, w/ Jump-Off Joe in the distance |
(Newport, Oregon)
– Some central Oregon coast landmarks will get their 15 minutes
of fame Friday, June 2, as Portland’s independently produced
TV show PDXposed will bring
them to the small screen.
PDXposed airs every Friday,
Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 7 p.m. on Comcast Cable’s Channel
14 – which is available in many parts of Oregon.
The show that
begins its run on June 2 will spotlight vacation rental resort Bella
Beach, the Nye Beach district of Newport, the Newport Seafood &
Wine Festival, Village Market & Deli in Newport, various stories
about glass floats and crabbing on the central coast, as well as
an interview with BeachConnection.net
editor Andre’ Hagestedt.

Nye Beach |
The Bella
Beach segment will take moments from the crew’s stay there,
and will showcase the sprawling resort of some 90 homes, their amenities
as well as the beach there.
The crew, which includes
host Jon Olson and co-host Heather Borgens, spent a few days in
the area in February, filming at various locations, including the
Newport Seafood & Wine Festival. One segment on the festival
has already aired, and another will air on the June 2 show.
The crew walked
around the atmospheric Nye Beach
neighborhood, talking to BeachConnection.net’s Andre’
Hagestedt about the area, who also took them on a brief historical
tour of the nearby Jump-Off Joe landmark – a rock structure
with a colorful past.
Olson and Borgens gobbled
down some lunch at Village Market & Deli, and the restaurant’s
sister business, Blu Cork Wine Bar, was also talked about.
PDXPosed is
up for two Emmy nominations in the 2006 Northwest Regional Emmy
Awards, run by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
One nomination is for “Entertainment Special or Series,”
and host/executive producer Jon Olson is a nominee in the category
of “Host/Talent – Non-News.” The awards ceremony
is held June 3 in Seattle, Washington.
