Coast Travel: Seaside's Massive Volleyball Tournament This Weekend
(Seaside, Oregon)
– The Seaside Chamber of Commerce brings the immensely popular
Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament to Seaside for the 25th consecutive
year on August 11 - 13. The quarter century-old event draws participants
– and exposure for Seaside – from all corners of the
United States.
 |
At
major events like the Seaside Volleyball Tournament, the beach
becomes its own tent city. |
The Seaside
Chamber of Commerce estimates the crowds on the beach to reach 10,000
each day of the three-day tournament. The visitors include elite
competitors, many amateur volleyball competitors and lots of spectators.
National popularity of the tournament continues to grow, as enthusiasm
for Beach Volleyball reaches an all-time high in the United States.
Live broadcasts of the
tournament will be made on Portland’s Jammin 95.5FM and Clatsop
County’s KCBZ 94.9FM.
The Seaside
Chamber of Commerce Beach Volleyball committee is coordinating this
event and welcomes volunteers to join them. Call committee chair,
Doug Barker, at 503-738-6391 for more information.

Lincoln
City Vacation Homes There’s
something for everyone among this selection of wondrous homes:
smaller homes with a view to a large house that sleeps 15. All
the homes are either oceanfront or just a few steps away from
the sand – all with a low bank access and fantastic views.
Most are in the Nelscott area; one is close to the casino. You’ll
find a variety of goodies, depending on the home: fireplaces,
multiple bedrooms, dishwashers, Jacuzzis, washer/dryers, hot tubs,
cable TV, VCR, barbecues; there’s a loft in one, and another
sprawling home has two apartments. Pets are allowed in some homes
– ask ahead. Each comes with complete kitchens so you’ll
have a home away from home. Most have the seventh night free.
Prices range from winter $85 to summer $230 per night. www.getaway2thecoast.com.
