Wine Bar on Oregon Coast Buzzes with Live Music (Newport, Oregon) – Newport’s Blu Cork Wine Bar has a full plate of serious live music fun lined up for the following weeks, with a particularly high point happening at the Jazz at Newport Festival on Sept. 7 – 10. There’s also the wild weekend of Labor Day Weekend, with a guaranteed party all weekend. All shows begin at 7 p.m.
Thursday, August 24 brings vocalist Annie Averre and Tall Jazz member Mike Horsfall performing varied forms of jazz. Friday, August 25 features David Hutson and the Jazz All Stars. Saturday, August 26 brings
the folksy, Jimmy Buffet-like sounds of locals Sons of Beaches. September 7 begins the frenzy of the Jazz at Newport Festival, with happenings all over town. But at Blu Cork, Portland wonder Darrell Grant sizzles on the keys for the evening. On September 8, Tall Jazz fills the rooms to the rafters. September 9 sees the searing vocals of Eugene’s Halie Loren, with her mix of standards and modern pop with some truly innovative twists. September 10 means the Gregory Ernst Duo performs outside on the patio in the afternoon, weather permitting.
